Meet the AFPN Team

SUDIP BHANDARI founder & director

Education: St. Olaf College '14, BA in public health

Sudip founded AFPN in 2011 when he saw a need in the social studies curriculum in Nepal and had a vision to be the change. In 2012, Sudip was recognized in New York with an Outstanding Educator Award by the Anne Frank Center of the United States.

Nicholas Kang ADVOCACY & MARKETING DIRECTOR

Nicholas is also the Director of Project Development for AFPN's affiliate partner, the Sarswati Foundation, and founder of the Smart Step Youth Association in British Columbia, Canada.

Sabi recently completed her MPH in International Health and is excited to be conducting global health research at Tufts University. 


JULIA COFFIN Public Relations Director

Education: St. Olaf College '12, BA in sociology/anthropology and religion

Julia was a Fulbright Scholar in Nepal in 2012-13, where she taught English. She is currently serving as a Lutheran Volunteer Corp member. 

SUBHASH GHIMIRE Site Supervisor

Subhash also founded AFNP's affiliated partner, the Sarswati Foundation, and the Sarswati Peace School in Arupokhari, Nepal. He is currently the Editor in Chief at Republica, a Nepalese national daily newspaper.

Ashish communicates with school administrators to coordinate visits. He represented AFPN at the global conference on peace education organized by the University of Riverside, USA in November 2013.
