Sudip Bhandari, founder and director of AFPN was honored by the Anne Frank Center USA with the Rita and Jacob Salzman 2012 Outstanding Educator Award, at the 16th Annual Spirit of Anne Frank Awards held in New York City. The award is granted to pioneers of educational programs which encourage students to embody tolerance and embrace a traditionally excluded group. Bhandari was given the award for his work in Nepal educating youth about the Holocaust, a topic rarely discussed in schools there.
